Hello all you masters and mistress of words, today blog post comes curiosity one of my favorite artists “KT Tunstall” the ultimate Rockstar. In fact, when I reference “rockstar” as a good gesture, KT is the inspiration for that. For the past week I been dealing with the after affects of my manic-depressive episode or my “Chum”. Dammit man the struggle is real; in this manic state I find comfort in music. Going back to something so familiar and close to home it’s like chicken soup for the soul. I have a playlist that is comprised of my favorite artists with songs that have positive vibes or happy memories that brings me home. KT’s music is a big part of that.

This playlist has ten of KT’s songs that is heavy I mean heavy in rotation. With each manic episode, I go through stages of songs that helps pull me back. This go round these four songs I been listening to on the regular; “It Took Me So Long To Get Here, But I’m Here“, “Love Is An Ocean”, “Maybe It’s A Good Thing” and “The Other Side Of The World“ from her debut album Eye to the Telescope. For me these songs are a beacon of light shinning bright at the end of a dark tunnel. KT’s music has the power to heal and bring comfort. When you read the lyrics to “Love Is An Ocean” you think it’s beautiful poem but mirrored by KT’s angelic voice, you just get a since that things will be okay.

KT music is timeless, classic and meaningful. I would go as far to say that she’s up there with the greats like “Carole King” and “Joni Mitchell” yes her music is that important. It’s KT’s relatability, kindness that you can feel. Perfect example of that is “Maybe It’s a Good Thing” where she speaks about finding love. It’s not the act of finding love, it’s the act of finding inner peace. Learning how to love yourself and knowing self worth is important. Not settling for nothing less then that of what you put out. Focusing on the positive light of enlightenment which opens the mind, the spirit to receive true love. How many of us can relate to that?
