“You knock me out like a wrecking crew
I’m back on my feet and all over you
Faster than I’ve ever been before”

“All Time High”

Hello all you mistresses and masters of words, it’s Friday and I’m still feeling the pressure from my Chum and his buddies.  This week has been brutal.  I’m still reeling from my meltdown and now I’m getting pressure from work.  This co-worker is notorious for doing this to me.  He waits until the last possible minute then gives me work saying he needs ASAP.  That’s the thing about working at this firm they don’t teach you anything it’s a crash and burn situation.

“I don’t allow myself to be human therefore my feelings of hurt, frustration and anger don’t have any value.  This process invalidates me as a person. That’s the one thing I truly dislike about myself.”

download (1)Yesterday my Chum paid me a visit.  True to rock star form, my Chum wasn’t alone.  This time Chum brought band mates Manic, Doubt and Panic. Together this dynamic foursome tore the hotel room apart. It was a complete meltdown to the point I had to call my safe person who always pulls me back from the ledge. My meltdown was beyond hitting my trigger the red brick wall, I ran smack dead into it, through it and over the edge.  Hanging on by the grip of my fingers I placed the call. I haven’t had that kind of breakdown in a while. My problem is I let things build up until I blow my top a trait I’m working on overcoming, however, I did see this one coming.  At this point lacking control, there’s really little to do. I buckled up, stayed on the run-away train bracing for the wreck and hoping for the best.

“The Stigma of Depression”
Ashley Laderer

Today I feel the weight of the world crashing down on me like a ton of bricks. This heaviness is like an underdog wrestler pinning down an opponent winning the match.  Unlike the wrestler, this is a match I won’t win today.  This weight slowly grows & morphing into an uncontrollable desperation. Some days this desperation is far off in the distant allowing me tiny bit of joy but today this desperation I often refer to as “my chum” is here to stay.

“It’s hard to hold your head up when you’re kneeling down to pray and talking don’t come easy now. When the words get in the way. If you could see what’s going on, behind these private eyes. The truth would look so easy now but I’m running out of lies.” This is lyrics from one of my favorite bands Def Leppard *All I Want Is Everything and yes you guessed it, this song is the inspiration for today’s blog post.

As a child I thought my big lips were my downfall. Everyday I would get teased about the size of my lips. As far back as I can remember, as I grew my lips grew two size larger. In class I would sit and daydream about having plastic surgery to have them deflated. Momma use say “oh they’re all jealous because God gifted you these lips.” Jealous huh? It doesn’t feel that way when the kids point and laugh. I was called every name in the book every derogatory clever name created I was called.

Top Decease Celebrity Money Makers of 2017

Hello Kings and Queens of social media, today’s blog is inspired by how much money deceased celebrities make. As I sit and drink my dirty martini and watch a rollercoaster ride “the world series” #GoDodgers I see tons of commercials featuring music or images of deceased celebrities. One deceased celebrity pops in mind Elizabeth Taylor, February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011 (ranking number 12 earning $8 million). At the time of Taylor’s death her estate was worth estimated $600 million which will be close to a billion today, but that doesn’t stop her estate for raking in the money with her classic Elizabeth Arden perfumes producing “White Diamonds” and “Passion”, I got the idea to research and here’s the top deceased celebrity money makers of 2017.

1. Michael Jackson

August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009

$75 million

Death: Drug Overdose

Michael Jackson, the 3rd bestselling artist of all time selling over 184 million records and known as the “King of Pop” is one number on this list. Jackson died in 2009 from a drug overdose but his estate earned $75 million 2017 due in part to his music catalog that includes hits like “Thriller” (used in those comical Party City Halloween commercials) and “Billie Jean” along with his stake in EMI music catalog that includes some Beatles top hits “Hey Jude” and “Yesterday” and let’s not forget Las Vegas Cirque du Soleil themed show, Jackson money train keeps roaring down the tracks with no sign of letting up. As in life, in death Michael Jackson is still the King of Pop.

The Pro Golfer nicked name “The King” of the golfing world and may be known as the best golfer of all time but his estate has generated some serious cash. With his signature drink “The Arnold Palmer” a blend of lemonade and tea goodness, the pro golfer managed to turn this drink into peer gold I mean really who hasn’t tasted or asked for an “Arnold Palmer”. Along with his signature drink there’s his apparel line that is sold in over 400 stores. On October 2, 1950 the world was introduced officially to “the Peanuts Gang”. This comic strip ran from the 50’s until Charles death in 2000. Sadly Schulz died in his sleep from colon cancer, 17 years later his estate continues to pull in the cash from this beloved comic that includes the yearly Halloween special “The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” and Christmas special “A Charlie Brown Christmas” that featured the memorable school play dance scene movies and a brief stint with Met Life Insurance Company that featured the Peanuts Gang in a series of commercials that since retired. His musical catalog includes classics like “Hound Dog”, “Here Comes Santa Claus” and “Blue Christmas”. 40 years after his death, his benefactor and only child Lisa Marie continues to receives checks with Graceland Tours, movies, books and music Elvis can rest assure that his little darling Lisa Marie is well taken care off.
